Summary Directs financial activities of an organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Recommends to management, improvement of work efficiency, security measure to reduce financial risks. Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations. Prepares budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification based on policies presented by management. Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities. Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities. Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets. Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions. Arranges for audits of company's accounts. Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies. Establishes relations with banks and other financial institutions. Determines access level needed for department software. Fulfills Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Requirements. Fulfills Department/Company Safety Responsibilities. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises 2-3 employees in the Accounting. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience Bachelors Degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software and Presentation software.
