Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities What Were
Looking For:
If you are experienced in progressive accounting, and have 5+ years
of experience, then you will be excited about the Senior Accountant
opening with Iridium on our Accounting Team! As a Senior
Accountant, youll contribute to a variety of accounting and
financial reporting activities. In this role, you will focus
primarily on accounting for Iridiums numerous foreign and domestic
subsidiaries, which includes oversight of certain foreign
accounting service providers. You will thrive in this role if you
are detail-oriented, organized, and able to provide a thorough
review of financial results.
What Youll Do:
Be responsible for performing many monthly accounting tasks
including journal entries, reconciliations, and assisting with
financial statement preparation and the completion of management
reporting
Responsible for preparation of the Company's international
accounting and reporting, including intercompany reconciliations,
foreign currency transactions, and translation of financial
statements into USD for international locations
Ensure accurate US GAAP financials and local statutory financials
are properly prepared for all of the Company's international
locations.
Ensure excellent financial controls and processes are in place and
that all of the Company's international locations are SOX compliant
and that statutory requirements are completed timely and
accurately.
Assist with statutory audits as required for certain international
locations.
Assist with the annual budget for key foreign subsidiaries,
including quarterly forecast updates and working alongside the
FP&A department to prepare the companys consolidated
forecast
Analyze financial results compared to trends and forecasted
expectations; Review, investigate and correct any issues as needed;
Coordinate the completion of management reporting and the gathering
of balance sheet and income statement variance explanations.
Assist with annual financial statement audit and interact with
external auditors.
What Youll Need to Succeed:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of relevant progressive accounting experience in a
combination of public accounting and industry
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to
confidently present the accounting impact of transactions with
management and other stakeholders
Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a
situation or problem and think critically to make decisions or come
up with practical solutions
Be comfortable managing upward, including being a proactive
communicator and asking for help when needed
Have confidence and be able to establish valuable relationships
with others
Must be able to prioritize key tasks with minimal oversight in a
fast-paced environment; have a strong sense of ownership over your
work
Be active in seeking out ways to continuously improve yourself and
gain new knowledge
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Hands-on approach to managing a tight month end close process
Experience & Education Requirements / EEO Things That Would be
Great if You Brought to the Table:
MBA, MS in Accounting, and/or CPA certification
Multi-lingual (primarily Spanish or Portugese)
Experience with financial statement consolidations and foreign
operations
Experience in Microsoft Dynamics GP and/or Blackline
Well also need you to:
Work overtime, on occasion
Be able to travel up to 10%
