About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join The
Hedge Accounting Team is responsible for accounting for Wells
Fargo's SFAS 133/ASC 815 derivatives. The accounting includes hedge
accounting monitoring, hedge specific reporting for SEC and
Regulatory Reporting, general month-end close responsibilities,
variance analysis, and a significant number of ad hoc projects.
This position will work directly with the Derivatives Center of
Excellence to perform topside accounting processes related the
firm's derivative transactions.
In this role, you will: Act as lead Consultant for financial
accounting related matters for lines of business and other control
functions
Provide technical expertise regarding accounting issues, regulatory
information and research for derivatives and collateral at all
reporting levels.
Provide data for preparing and reviewing financial and regulatory
reports
Perform ongoing financial control functions in accordance with the
company's internal controls policies
Communicate and provide consultation regularly with more
experienced stakeholders throughout the enterprise
Lead implementation of complex projects and initiatives impacting
one or more lines of business
Evaluate complex reporting requirements and perform advanced
monitoring and review of accounting results
Define the data elements required to satisfy the reporting
requirements and in some cases, to perform complex calculations on
accounting information to generate the requested derivatives
information
This position will require onsite presence in a hybrid arrangement
at one of the following locations: Phoenix, AZ; Des Moines, IA;
Minneapolis, MN; Charlotte, NC; Dallas, TX; and St Louis, MO.
Relocation is available for this position.
Required Qualifications: 4+ years of Finance, Accounting,
Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk
Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a
combination of the following: work experience, training, military
experience, education
Desired Qualifications: A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a
combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or
Reporting
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Public Accountant
(CPA)
Big 4 public accounting experience
2+ years of experience in SEC and regulatory reporting (FR Y-9C,
FFIEC 009, FFIEC 031/041, FR Y-15, FR2436)
Experience in consolidation accounting, balance sheet netting, and
general accounting for derivative contracts
Ability to re-engineer accounting and reporting processes to gain
efficiencies and to enhance controls
SQL experience
Derivatives experience
Demonstrated Experience with automation tools like Alteryx, Power
BI, Python or Tableau
Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while
balancing multiple priorities
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all
organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and
adaptability are important
