Job Description:
We are looking for a Director of Accounting and US Government
Compliance to support the PacSci EMC Business Unit, which is an
operating company under Fortive Corporation. In this role, you will
need to be an authority with a positive approach. You have the
ability to collaborate with department leaders to move the business
forward. This position is responsible for leading all aspects of
the accounting function including but not limited to general
ledger, cash management, revenue recognition (ASC606), tax
reporting, payroll, and US Government compliance. Requires
application of accounting principles, GAAP requirements,
Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements, FAR/CAS government
regulations and standard processes.Responsibilities:
- Strong people leader with a track record of driving business
results through building engaged, hard-working teams
- Manage and lead month, quarter and year-end close & forecast
processes, issue timely and accurate financial statement
reporting
- Monthly balance sheet forecasting process and cash operations
execution to meet/exceed working capital targets
- Facilitate external and internal audits relating to all matters
financial, including statutory audits, internal corporate audits,
Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audits, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act audits,
DCAA and Customer audits of the accounting systems and company
financial billing rates. Ensure timely remediation and closure of
any audit findings.
- Develop and implement Forward Pricing Rates (FPR) and Incurred
Cost Electronically (ICE) model
- Payroll and timekeeping functions
- Identify & implement continuous improvement opportunities using
Fortive Business Systems (FBS).
- Full business partnership with the leadership team to drive
margin expansion opportunities and effective risk mitigation though
data driven financial analysis
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related area is
required
- 7+ years of wide-ranging experience in the Accounting and
Finance fields, including a background in companies with revenues
of $200 million or more
- Validated history of accomplishments in sophisticated and
fast-paced operating environments, ability to influence others,
drive and implement change, and standardize/streamline
processes
- Excellent analytical, modeling, and problem-solving
skills.
- Strong understanding of financial statement functions and
reporting
- Experience with financial and operating functions in a
manufacturing business
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the
ability to convey technical financial information to non-financial
partners
- Proven record of creative problem solving and organizational
change
- Upbeat demeanor, coupled with detailed execution skills
- Strong business partnership, leadership, interpersonal skills
with the ability to interact optimally with diverse personalities
in a highly matrixed organization
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting
principles, laws, and standard processes
- Strong leading, mentor, analytic and influence skills to
develop, lead and guide a staff of accounting
professionalsPreferred Qualifications:
- DCMA (Government Accounting) experience
- Solid understanding of government compliance regulations, and
program/cost accounting to include FAR/CAS
- MBA and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Familiarity with Oracle data warehousing and HyperionFortives
