Job Description Job Description CAD Drafter – Residential / ADU Projects (Hybrid) YOU MUST LIVE IN TUCSON OR SURROUNDING AREAS Tiny Homes of Tucson We’re growing and looking to add a full-time CAD Drafter to our team. This is a hybrid position (40 hrs/week) — part work-from-home, part in-the-field . You’ll be working on real residential projects from early layouts through permit submittal and construction-ready plans. Salary: $60,000–$75,000/year (DOE) Location: Tucson, AZ (local candidates only) What you’ll do: Produce complete, permit-ready residential plan sets , including: Pre-sale layouts Site plans Floor plans Elevations Sections Structural sheets MEP sheets (or MEP coordination if not producing directly) Details as required Draft plans for ADUs, guest houses, garage conversions, additions, and attached homes Prepare, submit, and manage plan sets through City of Tucson, Pima County, Marana and Oro Valley including responding to plan review comments Structural drawings are prescriptive or engineer-coordinated ; no stamping required Incorporate electrical load calculations provided by electrician and standardized plumbing templates/calculations Visit job sites to verify site conditions, measurements, and field constraints Explain plans to clients as needed (clarification and walkthroughs — not sales ) Coordinate timelines, revisions, and priorities with the Pre-Construction Manager Report directly to Owner You’ll own your assigned projects from pre-sale layouts through permit submittal and construction-ready plan sets . What we’re looking for: Experience with residential CAD drafting Strong working knowledge of City of Tucson and Pima County residential codes Hands-on experience submitting plans and responding to city/county comments Proficiency in AutoCAD and standard PDF review/redline workflows Working knowledge of 3D visualization tools for pre-sale layouts Ability to work from established templates, standard details, and assemblies Comfortable managing multiple residential projects at different stages Comfortable interacting with clients to explain plans clearly and professionally Organized, reliable, and able to work independently Reliable transportation for required site visits Big plus if you have: Experience producing residential structural drawings ADU, small residential infill, or garage conversion experience Familiarity with Tucson, Pima County, Marana, Oro Valley residential permitting workflows The details: Hybrid role (work from home site visits) Mileage reimbursed for site visits Monthly allowance provided to help cover health insurance Recent grads and experienced drafters are welcome to apply Equipment & Software Provided Tiny Homes of Tucson provides a company laptop/workstation and all required drafting software, including AutoCAD and PDF review tools. Standard templates, title blocks, and example calculations will be provided.
