Job Description Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1 years Special Education Teacher experience required. A K-7 classical charter school is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join their team for the remainder of the school year. This contract position is located in Vail, AZ, serving a student body of approximately 500 scholars. The role offers an opportunity to work collaboratively within a well-established Special Education department, including a School Psychologist, Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), and Occupational Therapist (OT), with strong support from the chartering district. Responsibilities include: Collaborating with the existing Special Education Teacher to co-manage a caseload currently totaling around 27 students, with potential increases pending ongoing evaluations. Providing tailored instructional support and interventions for students primarily in grades 4-7, though flexibility with grade levels is expected. Participating in assessment activities using tools such as the WIAT (Wechsler Individual Achievement Test). Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines. Engaging with the multidisciplinary team to support student progress and inclusion. Desired qualifications: Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for K-12 instruction. Experience working within a K-7 environment, preferably in a charter or classical education setting. Familiarity with academic assessments like the WIAT and IEP development. Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a willingness to learn established systems and collaborate closely with specialists.
