located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district
of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto
Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than
four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in
2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is
underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050. Our

PURPOSE The Construction Coordinator will monitor and control the
execution of the projects defined and managed through the Assets &
Engineering Department. The Construction Coordinator will assist in
developing work scopes and schedules and ensure quotations match
expectations of work. Construction Coordinators will audit and
evaluate work being done on Projects by internal work force,
contractors, vendors, and ensure the work they perform meets or
exceeds expectations. They will also assists in the selection of
new vendors and works closely with other departments to understand
requirements and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and
company policies. REPORTING TO: Principal Advisor – Civil Projects
COLLABORATING WITH (Key Departments, External Groups): Internal
Principal Advisor – Civil Projects Project Engineer Internal Work
Force, Contractor user departments, ie, mine, tailings, HSEC, etc.
Business Services – Supply External Tailings Construction
Contractor QC Contractor Vendors PEOPLE REPORTING TO THIS POSITION
None WORK ENVIRONMENT: This role is generally 80% field environment
and 20% office environment. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Exemplify the
Capstone Copper Values in all efforts and interactions while
working in compliance with all MSHA safety guidelines and Pinto
Valley Mine policies and procedures. Ensure that you are certified
to execute the tasks / jobs assigned. Coordinate with other
departments contractor performance expectations. Promote culture
for continuous improvement. Establish and meet aggressive timelines
for project readiness and completion. Provide customers with
regular communications including progress updates and issue
resolutions. Ensure safe and efficient execution of assigned
projects. Coordinate communications between Project Teams, HSEC,
Construction Contractor to ensure compliance with all project
documents and standards. Responsible for but not limited to all
tasks/duties assigned or required. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
(Required, Preferred) Required: Intermediate computer skills (MS
Office Suite). Valid drivers license. Able to speak, comprehend,
read, and write English. Ability to read and understand
construction drawings, scopes of work, and quality control.
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related
field. YEARS OF RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: (Required, Preferred)
Required: 5 years of experience in related field construction such
as large civil earth moving projects, mine execution, dam
construction. Construction Management, Project Management and/or
Safety Preferred: 7 years in Construction, Mine execution, or
Project Management KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES (KSA): Construction
minded, forward thinking individual that can identify potential
bottlenecks in the project schedule. Excellent record keeping and
organizational skills. Strong planning and scheduling skills.
Strong communication skills. Knowledge of Safety and Quality
standards. Training and demonstrated expertise in the execution of
the Engineering System for Management. Knowledge of the Contracting
Process and controls established by the Supply organization.
