Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Job Description: Mechanical engineering (ME) position is responsible for commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products and requires proficiency in hardware inspection using various inspection methods and instruments. The position requires successfully interfacing with inspection personnel, quality and design engineers, supply chain, planning professionals, and suppliers. The ME will report to the Supplier Quality Engineering Manager as his liaison to Receiving Inspection. Among other task, the QA will be primarily responsible for performing the following.Requirements
    • Responsible for COTS hardware (fasteners, glues, chemicals, etc.) including working with suppliers to ensure receipt of conforming product.
    • The ability to drive and evaluate supplier-provided root cause and corrective action
    • Verify validity of hardware nonconformances and provide guidance on alternate inspection techniques.
    • Work with RI personnel to help resolve hardware and documentation-related issues.
    • Disposition nonconformances
    • Generate inspection plans
    • Perform source inspection
      • The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to work with minimal oversight and in a multi-discipline team environment.The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
        • A Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience as a quality or manufacturing engineer.
        • Familiar with quality data / non-conforming material processing systems
        • Intermediate PC skills including knowledge of MS Office products, specifically Word & Excel
        • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
        • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with suppliers on a regular basis.
        • Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain government security clearance.
        • Proficiency with reading and interpreting engineering drawings
        • Familiarity and experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements
        • A sound understanding of GD&T and inspection techniquesSalary Range: 64200 - 96200Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
