Genuent is hiring a RF Engineer for our direct client in the Chandler, AZ area. This is a 9-month contract with a tentative start date of 1/17/2021. Qualified candidates should send their resume (Word Format) along with salary requirements to Nate Ackerman at RF Engineer - Chandler, AZ 9-month Contract Using sound engineering principles and tools, this position leads the RF Engineering team in assessing an engineering requirement, breaking the requirement down into its component parts, identifying the constants and variables to address the overall requirement, considering all the trade-offs, assessing the practical and strategic impact of potential solutions and be able to propose a viable process and solution in a timely manner. This position will support PROW and Venue activities in the West and will become involved in multiple projects at different lifecycles. This individual must interact and collaborate with a wide variety of internal and external customers and requires the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Essential Job Functions Support the proposal and RF team in assessing the network engineering requirements for opportunities and provide accurate and detailed proposal documentation. Collaborate with the internal Project Delivery, Permitting/Utilities, Construction, Product Engineering and National teams to complete opportunities and build projects on a timely basis Create Small Cell/DAS network design proposals and be able to present the solutions to the customers or venues. Locations can be on poles or buildings with either outdoor or indoor configurations. Support the Regional and market RF Engineering team in the design of indoor and outdoor systems to meet coverage objectives using software planning tools. Communicate and provide support for meetings with Venues, Jurisdictions and Utility companies to explain the design and infrastructure needs Coordinate, oversee or perform system optimization of multi-node indoor and outdoor systems Complete node candidate evaluation/relocations, review node A&E drawings, and validate as builts or closeout documents Create and provide wiring diagrams as well as equipment or bill of materials to other teams for the node and power designs Design power to the node with AC or DC sources Create or modify the node power designs in AutoCAD Utilize various internal process workflow systems for RF equipment configuration forecasting and cost estimates Update database tools and records for all assets including pole/building location, heights, RF equipment and power solutions Comply with FCC, OSHA and City regulations for wireless system including and not limited to RF Emissions, Noise and Interference levels Define scopes for RF related tasks including sweeps, PIM and integration process for with internal stakeholders and contractors Collaborate with National RF on design standards and integration process Support the internal team on further innovation of tools/processes and support of new technology trials. Manage approved vendors to complete various RF Engineering scope of work Provide/support the planning, coordination and testing of networks (can include CW, Benchmark, Commissioning, Integration, and Optimization) Support the troubleshooting efforts with the Operations team for network trouble tickets on DAS and Small Cells. Education/Certifications Minimum of BSEE; MSEE preferred Experience/Minimum Requirements Minimum of five (5) years of RF engineering experience Experience with RAN and DAS OEMs required. Experience with Wireless Technologies (LTE, CBRS, UMTS, CDMA required; 5G preferred) Experience with Small Cell RRU, DAS design, 5-Step Commissioning, and optimization expertise required Knowledgeable with node designs in the right of way and venues Experience with prediction and Mapping tools (Atoll, iBwave, MapInfo, Windcatcher, Google Earth) Able to quickly learn other tools: Power BI, GIS and analytics tools Ability to use a variety of tools to confirm system designs: power meter, spectrum analyzer, pilot scanners, TEMs phones, CPE equipment, RF Emissions power density probes Expertise with PIM/Sweep test gear and troubleshooting Ability to understand electrical power concepts and node or cell site construction Able to use AutoCAD for creating or modifying Line Power designs Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Outlook, Word), Power BI Other Skills/Abilities Self driven and motivated to work on a high volume of projects for various RF related deliverables Able to successfully adapt to constant organizational, process and technical wireless industry evolution and changes Collaborate & Communicate Effectively with Cross Functional Partners Ability to deliver results under conditions of ambiguity Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem. Ability to focus on a goal and obtain a pre-determined result. Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task. Possessing the trait of being organized or following a systematic method of performing a task. Communication, Written - Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely. Ability to actively attend to, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others. Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems. Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word. Ability to take care of the customers' needs while following company procedures. Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations. Working Conditions: Works in a normal office setting but may require up to 50% travel within West region.
