Northrop Grumman Space Systems is searching for an experienced Aeronautical Engineering Manager 1 to join the Propulsion Engineering team within the Launch Vehicles business unit located in Chandler, AZ.

Role description & Responsibilities:
The Propulsion Engineering Manager will play a key role in support of Program activities and production support at the Launch Vehicles business unit. This position will have supervisory and technical oversight in support of the IRBM/ICBM and GMD Propulsion Engineering efforts. The role requires oversight of a team of engineers and interfaces daily with senior management, program management, and internal or external customers. Provides direction to subordinates using established policies and precedents. Monitors work operations of employees on a daily basis and actively assists or provides direction to subordinates as required. Ensures that projects are completed on schedule following established procedures and schedules. Duties include but are not limited to the following activities: personnel work assignments, goal setting, performance evaluation, salary planning, coaching, coordinating program efforts, and technical oversight.

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering plus 5 years of related experience in launch vehicle design and production support; Master's Degree plus 3 years of experience
  • Ability to work within, lead, or develop a team as required by the situation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to a large community (internal or external)
  • Ability to solve problems, lead troubleshooting efforts, drive tasks to completion
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple concurrent projects and priorities
  • Ability to evaluate trade studies and present results to senior management
  • Active Security ClearancePreferred qualifications
    • Aerospace or Mechanical engineering background
    • Project management experience preferred
    • Prior leadership experience a plus Salary Range: $103,300 USD - $154,900 USD

      Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
