Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Job Description: Launch Vehicles is seeking an experience Sr. Principle Nondestructive Test Engineer knowledgeable in aerospace and/or military NDT requirements. The NDT Engineer will report directly to the Supplier Quality Engineering Manager.Role and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to ensure suppliers are compliant with imposed engineering/industry requirements through periodic review of supplier NDT processes.
  • Review and approve radiographic and n-ray images of various energetic and non-energetic devices.
  • Perform ultrasonic inspection of composite structures
  • Support and guide Design Engineering in developing NDT methods for new and existing hardware.
  • Support failure investigationsBasic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in STEM
    • Candidate must have a continuous work history with fifteen (15) or more years of experience with demonstrated knowledge of nondestructive testing. Note: An additional 5 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a STEM degree.
    • Ability to provide certification and experience records per NAS 410
    • Level 2 or 3 ASNT certification in radiographic inspection (RT), fluorescent penetrant (PT) magnetic particle (MT), and ultrasonic inspection (UT).
    • 5+ years of experience inspecting composite structures using ultrasonic phased array technology.
    • Experience auditing NDT process
    • Ability to obtain a security clearance is required
    • The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to work with minimal oversight and in a multi-discipline team environment, providing insight and solutions to complicated technical issues.
    • Ability to articulate concepts and concerns to technical and non-technical professionals.
    • Ability to travelPreferred Qualifications:
      • Experience as a Responsible Site Level 3
      • Certified NAS410 Level 3 in X-ray, N-ray and ultrasonic inspection
      • Experience in ordnance explosive devices
      • Ability to design reference standardsMinimum Qualifications: 9 Years with BS and 7 with MastersSalary Range: $98,700 USD - $148,100 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
