  • Provide ballistic and mass property predictions for solid rocket motors to accurately model performance for pre-flight predictions. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to validate that motor models have been appropriately derived and implemented.
  • Perform post-flight data analysis to evaluate thrust, action time and mission performance for comparison to pre-flight predictions.
  • Perform inspections of motors at suppliers, review build paperwork and assess non-conforming material for flight acceptance.
  • Conduct trade studies and evaluate alternative designs.
  • Based on broadly defined problems, study basic design concepts and criteria for complex materials, components, or functional systems and applies the engineering principles involved to develop new designs.
  • Anticipate customer needs and find innovative ways to provide for those needs.
  • Originate and develop constructive ideas. Consistently look for ways to modify or change existing methods or processes to improve outcomes.
  • Determine engineering tasks required for project planning and execution; Analyze project requirements and develop detailed planning, conceptual designs, and risk analysis.
  • Interact with internal and external customers; Assist the customer in defining system requirements and in the generation of specifications for products or sub systems.
  • Develop and present materials for project related briefings including design reviews to be given to internal and external customers.
  • Support new business and prepare proposal material. Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in STEM with 0 years of related engineering experience
    • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearancePreferred Qualifications:
      • Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree
      • Active DoD Secret security clearance, or higher
      • Experience working with the following software packages or analysis techniques preferred:
        • Matlab and Python
        • Static fire testing
        • Ballistic modeling
        • Configuration change management Salary Range: $71,100 USD - $106,700 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
