Principal/Sr. Principal Engineer Material Process professional at
our Chandler, AZ location.Essential Functions:Review compliance of
Engineering to Material and Process System Level
requirementsGenerate bill of materials based on information from
Engineering designs and the NG material requirements planning
systemBased on specific stated objectives, performs analysis,
design, or test of one or more complex materials, structural
components or functional systems of company products. Use advanced
structural and product design engineering software tools. Solid
knowledge of GD&T principles and application to designsWith
minimal guidance, studies basic design concepts and criteria for
complex materials, components, or functional systems. Applies
engineering principles to adapt or improve upon heritage features
from previous successful designs of a similar natureMakes an extra
effort to provide quality customer service. Constantly seeks new
sources of information and provides information necessary to meet
customer needsDemonstrates a willingness to seek creative, new and
different ways to accomplish outcomes. Demonstrates a willingness
to seek creative, new and different ways to accomplish
outcomesPerform complex engineering design, development, analysis,
and/or test activities to support assigned projectsDevelop test
programs as needed to evaluate system elements, such as materials,
structural components, etc.Manage test activities and test article
fabrication, including documentation of resultsDetermine
engineering tasks required for project planning and
executionInteract with senior customer personnel on significant
technical matters, often requiring coordinated activity across
organizational linesPerform research for related engineering
projectsRepresent the organization as a contact on projectsBasic
Qualifications for Principal Engineer Materials Process:Bachelor's
degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or
Math) with 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's
degree in STEM with 3 years of related engineering experience, or a
PhD in STEM with no experienceAbility to obtain and maintain a US
DoD Secret Security clearanceBasic Qualifications for Sr. Principal
Engineer Materials Process:Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline
(Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 9 years of related
engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in STEM with 7 years
of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 4 years
related engineering experienceAbility to obtain and maintain a US
DoD Secret Security clearancePreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's or
Master's in Aerospace or Mechanical engineeringActive Secret
Security Clearance, or higherSolid written and verbal communication
skillsNX or other CAD experienceGD&T training iAbility to
present technical content to peers and project groupsFamiliarity
with Matlab, Python, LinuxKnowledge of basic corrosion
principlesFamiliar with material and process related requirement
reviewsFamiliar with material and process related drawing
reviewsFamiliar with material characterization, qualification and
generation of design allowablesThis position reports to Chandler,
AZ, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Chandler,
AZ, AZ, USA.Salary Range: $82,000 USD - $123,000 USDSalary Range 2:
$101,600 USD - $152,400 USDEmployees may be eligible for a
discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are
designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow
employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President
or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In
addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including
