Responsibilities
Fueled by a talented technical workforce, Spectral Instruments
Imaging provides preclinical instrumentation and seeks a highly
skilled, motivated Field Service Engineer to join our growing
team.
- Serve as the first point of customer
contact to document interactions, triage, and communicate to the
Heads of Service and Applications Scientists for assistance.
- Perform installations, training, technical support, preventive
maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs, hardware and software
upgrades of preclinical imaging equipment
- Manage customer expectations by performing site visits,
communicating work performed, and providing a follow-up plan if
needed.
- Deliver system training at customer sites and communicate with
the sales and applications team to plan post install support.
- Actively maintain customer information, log cases and service
visits in SalesForce
- Travel up to 50% of the time
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Biotech, Physics,
Molecular, Biology, or Chemistry discipline.
- Minimum 3 years' recent work experience as a Field Service
Engineer performing installations, maintenance services of
analytical instruments, such as diagnosing, troubleshooting, and
repair of complex mechanical, electromechanical and/or electronic
equipment involving tools and testing equipment, mechanical devices
and computers (hardware, software, networking).
- Active working technical knowledge of analytical instruments,
scientific hardware and software, electronics, high voltage
circuitry/circuits, molecular imaging, laser technology
- Experience with Hospital and/ or Pharma networks and
troubleshooting desirable.
- A Customer Service Professional with excellent client care
focus: quickly and reliably responds to inquiries, communicates and
readily interacts with Scientists in the fields of Molecular
Imaging, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics, or Microbiology.
- Excellent verbal, written, MS Office, computer, technical data,
interpersonal and customer care communication and presentation
skills, with ability to address complex technical issues in an easy
to understand manner.
- Strong working knowledge of Salesforce.com or similar CRM.
- Analytical mindset with strong drive to partner with customers
and colleagues to constructively address and resolve open issues,
follow through, and ensure reliable service delivery.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with
ability to work independently, prioritize, multi-task, follow
through, and meet deadlines within an entrepreneurial and
customer-focused work environment.
- Ability to satisfactorily complete position training
requirements.
- Attend and actively participate in quarterly scientific
technical training programs.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., transport equipment and tools in
excess of 300 lbs.
- This position requires lifting heavy objects and maneuvering
large bulky items (examples: tools, mechanical pumps, rigging
equipment, power supplies, field mapper).
- This position requires reasonable dexterity to perform manual
functions in confined spaces.
- Proven ability to follow safety standards, practices, and
codes.
- Valid Driver License in good standing, issued by resident state
required.
- U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status
required.
- Maintain a valid passport with flexibility for domestic and
international travel.
- May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
