Raytheon Industry 4.0 - Smart Digital Factory and Automation (SDF&A) has an immediate career-growth opportunity for a highly motivated and innovative Principal Digital Factory Engineer. As a Digital Factory developer, you will play a key role in designing, integrating, testing, and deploying advanced IIoT/Industry 4.0 technologies developed in Ignition. This role also involves performing root cause corrective action (RCCA) for hardware and software issues, supporting data analytics, and creating visualization solutions. You will collaborate closely with digital factory engineers, chief architects, and leadership, contributing to all stages of the product lifecycle – from planning to deployment and sustainment. Advance IIoT initiatives by working with sensors, gateways, connectivity solutions, APIs, and data analytics platforms. Recommend and implement methods to connect manufacturing equipment to IIoT/OT layer networks. Configure communication protocols and network devices (e.g., EIP, Modbus/TCP, MQTT). Collaborate on major team projects and independently solve complex SDF&A Engineering Systems problems. Analyze large, complex data sets to support digital thread implementation and develop analytics reports and visualiza ti on on tools Travel up to 10% of the time What You Will Learn Gain technical leadership experience and mentorship opportunities while working with influential leaders across Raytheon. Collaborate with I4.0 subject matter experts, digital technologies specialists, customers, and cross-functional teams. Manage system integration projects and provide reliable data to enable informed customer decisions. Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required , as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance Experience with Ignition SCADA development with tools such as SQL, Python, C#/.NET, HTML5, and JSON. Experience with Azure DevOps or similar Agile Project Management tools. Demonstrated experience scripting, dashboarding, and developing APIs/web applications, with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on project work in these areas. Proven experience applying Industry 4.0 concepts (e.g., IIoT, AI, machine learning, systems integration, ISA-95, or Pub/Sub) in projects such as predictive maintenance, real-time data collection, or manufacturing process optimization. Practical experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus/TCP, MQTT, EIP, SECS/GEM) in automated assembly lines, semiconductor manufacturing, or similar environments. Experience with data analytics, including processing and visualizing data from multiple sources (e.g., sensors, ERP, MES) to drive operational improvements. Qualifications We Prefer Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills demonstrated through leading cross-functional teams on multiple projects/products, ensuring on-time delivery, meeting project milestones, and aligning with organizational objectives. Ignition Gold Certification or willingness to achieve it within the first year. Experience with tools like Splunk!, Power BI, GraphQL, Tableau, SQL Server, SAP, and automation platforms (e.g., Windows Task Scheduler, SQL Server SSIS). Knowledge of big data, data mining, and distributed controls. Familiarity with cyber security, IT infrastructure integration, and manufacturing environments, including MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems). Understanding of automation systems (e.g., robots, vision systems, PLCs) deployment and integration. The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
