The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program (NG-MIP) is an
approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction
1322.29 . NG-MIP is an opportunity for transitioning service
members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an
individual internship during their last 6 months of service, for up
to 180 days. The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program is
open to all ranks and experience levels. SkillBridge participants
are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they
continue to receive military compensation and benefits as
active-duty service members. Responsibilities for this internship
position are: Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the
Northrop Grumman – Military Internship Program (DoD SKillbridge)
utilizing the DoDI guidance for Skillbridge. During this program
the service member will be on-site at his or her host company
performing an individual internship in an entry to mid-level career
type role. The service member will be on the job training
supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined
below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.
Goals – Provide transitioning service members fellowship-style job
skills training during the last portion(s) of their military
commitment. This program is specifically designed to offer
internships that result in the potential to transition to a
full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns
will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military
candidates into NGC. Objectives - Service Members who complete the
Intern program will be highly trained, capable, future employees
that align to the specific needs of the organization and are
prepared to meet the NG mission “Defining Possible” on Day 1. This
program provides a comprehensive internship experience including
professional development, networking with leadership, and training
specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history,
customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and
core job responsibilities. Outcome – Offer transitioning service
member a rewarding opportunity to join the Northrop Grumman team.
DoD SkillBridge Eligibility: · Has served at least 180 days on
active duty · Is within 12 months of separation or retirement ·
Will receive an honorable discharge · Has taken any service
TAPS/TGPS · Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within
the last 12 months · Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade
commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval
to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of
internship. SkillBridge Associate Electrical Engineer – (Electrical
Ground Support Equipment) Northrop Grumman Space Systems is
currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our
electrical ground support equipment group in our Chandler, AZ
facility. Our electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) team
supports our programs with the design, test, and sustainment of all
EGSE and test support equipment hardware used in the integration
and launch of our vehicles. Our EGSE team members work in a diverse
set of roles across the lifecycle of a program. Job Duties: Based
on specific objectives, work with a system electrical engineering
team to perform analysis, design, and test of complex “system
level” designs with a focus on the electrical ground support
equipment and test support equipment for the launch vehicle. Job
responsibilities: Broad understanding and application of company
electrical engineering technical standards. Broad technical
expertise and working knowledge of other related disciplines.
Prepares and presents electrical engineering materials for
Requirements and Design Reviews. With minimal guidance, studies
basic design concepts and criteria for more complex problems.
Applies electrical engineering principles to adapt or improve upon
heritage features from previous successful designs of a similar
nature. Actively and effectively participates and contributes in a
positive manner while supporting team decisions and goals. Makes an
extra effort to provide quality internal and external customer
service. Constantly seeks new sources of information and provides
information necessary to meet customer needs. Disciplined with
escalation when required. Derives requirements through multiple
sources of documentation and design meetings. Evaluate, with
supervision, uncertainty and risks associated with requirements and
designs. Patriciate in trade studies for both internal projects and
procured equipment. Act with safety as your number one priority
through every aspect of the role. Provides formal peer review of
simple engineering designs or analyses for less experienced
engineers. Completing day-to-day activities with minimal oversight
of senior engineers. Desired Experience: Knowledgeable with the use
of basic test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes,
DMMs, and electronic loads. Broad or high-level circuit design and
analysis. Also seeking experience in any of the following: Design,
test, and/or integration and deployment of electrical ground
support equipment (EGSE) or test support equipment (TSE). Design,
test, programming, and/or integration and deployment of automated
test equipment (ATE). Testing of avionics, electronic components,
or electrical systems using purpose designed test equipment.
Burndown of nonconformances and/or root cause failure analysis of
electronic systems. Release of engineering documentation including
technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures. Leading
teams or personnel in the execution of test procedures. Leading
teams or personnel in the design of electronic equipment. Problem
solving not only for technical issues, but also for schedule, cost,
resource and other project challenges. Mentoring and cross-training
team members across a diverse set of technologies and equipment
architectures used to meet customer requirements. LabVIEW
programming and NI hardware and software products. Contributions to
process improvement initiatives. CompTIA Security or similar
certifications. Usage and troubleshooting of networks, Windows
systems, and RHEL or other Linux distributions. Experience with
classified test systems or systems subject to cyber security
policies. Management or tracking of projects through a product life
cycle. Support of manufacturing engineering during the production
of test equipment products. Experience with telemetry systems
including decoms and chapter 10 recorders. Development or support
of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) or other integrations labs. Basic
Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering or enrolled
and pursuing an undergraduate Engineering degree from an accredited
college/university. DoD Active Secret Clearance is required. U.S.

Range: $63,900.00 - $95,900.00 The above salary range represents a
general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of
factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and
responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience,
education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the
position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift
differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as
well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in
Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
