Northrop Grumman Space Systems is searching for anexperienced Director Mission Assurance--to join the Launch Vehicles business unitin Chandler, AZ. The Director Mission Assurance is responsible for the Mission Assurance management for the Launch Vehicle's Business Unit. Responsibilities included the oversite and management of the team of mission assurance managers who support all LV programs. Defines and evaluates mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs. Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements. Assesses program performance and risks, and determines resources to ensure mission assurance. Responsible for the creation of Mission Assurance strategies and plans to achieve reduced defects, improved supplier products, and successful delivery of vehicles to LV's customer. Responsible for compliance to LV and customer requirements as well as the creation of streamlined process to support vehicle assembly, and--MA process execution.-- Must have a wide range of knowledge of mission assurance techniques, practices and concepts in order to ensure good practices exist that are streamlined. Must be proficient in process control and creation, contract understanding, quality management systems, metrics, root cause and corrective action, configuration management, manufacturing process and be able to participate in technical issues and resolutions. Must be proficient in Cost Account Management for cost control of Mission Assurance functional budget as well as program budgets. Must also be proficient in proposal management for support of major program awards and submittals. Ability to create and manage budgets, Cost Accounts, root cause and corrective actions, technical issues Will be accountable for ensuring that overall budgets, schedules, and performance standards are met. Must have good written and verbal communication skills for interactions with business unit management, program management, customers and suppliers. Qualifications Basic Qualifications:--
Bachelor of Science degree plus 15 years of related Mission Assurance work experience; Master's degree plus 12 years of related Mission Assurance work experience.
8 years of related management experience in Mission Assurance
U.S. Citizenship is required
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required
Ability to travel 10% is required
