The Propulsion Engineering Manager will play a key role in support of vehicle development and production at the Launch Vehicles business unit. This position will have supervisory and technical oversight in support of the GBSD Propulsion Engineering efforts. The role requires oversight of a team of engineers and interfaces daily with senior management, program management, and internal or external customers. Duties include but are not limited to the following activities: personnel work assignments, goal setting, performance evaluation, coaching, coordinating program efforts, and technical oversight. Team development, including training and mentoring are central elements of this role. Responsibilities will also include assisting the senior management team with hiring, salary planning, and other duties as requested. Subject matter expertise with solid rocket motors and/or ordnance is preferred. Some travel may be required (Required Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Engineering with minimum 10 years of related experience in launch vehicle design and production support
  • Ability to obtain a Security clearance (SECRET or higher) which generally requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite
  • Ability to work within, lead, or develop a team as required by the situation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to a large customer community (internal or external)
  • Ability to solve problems, lead troubleshooting efforts, drive tasks to completion
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple concurrent projects and priorities
  • Ability to evaluate trade studies and present results to senior management
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Prior management experience a plus
  • Aerospace or Mechanical engineering background preferredRequires BS in Engineering and minimum 10 years of experience, or Masters and 9 years, or PhD & 7 years.

    Salary Range: 134700 - 202100

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
