Family Medicine Residency Associate Program Director Location Facility: Dignity Health Medical Group - Arizona - East Valley - Address: - Chandler , AZ 85224 - Opportunity Criteria Specialty: Program Director Academic Associate Program Director - Loan Repayment: Salary Range: Employment Type: Bonus Offered: Dignity Health Medical Group Arizona - East Valley is in the process of starting a new Family Medicine Residency Program and is looking for an innovative and energetic Associate Program Directo r to help create a top-notch residency in one of the fastest-growing regions in the United States. The Family Medicine Residency Associate Program Director (APD) will help coordinate curriculum development and evaluation, resident evaluation and remediation processes, residency recruitment, grant development, resident scholarly activities, and residency budget and policy development. - The APD position is designated for 40% time dedicated to these administrative duties assisting the Program Director, while spending 60% time in clinical activities related to teaching and the practice of medicine. - Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: -

  • With the Program Director, the APD will have oversight of all curricular areas including developing innovative curriculum.
  • Develops and oversees policies and procedures for the residency and collaborates with the residency program director and the residency program coordinator to ensure compliance with Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, ACGME, and ABFM requirements. -
  • Oversees resident evaluation processes as the head of the Clinical Competency Committee, and works with the PD to determine strategies for helping residents who are experiencing difficulties and when appropriate, assist in developing remediation plans. -
  • Assists the program coordinator and/or the FM Chief Resident to prepare resident rotation schedules including helping negotiate with other residency programs and practice sites. -
  • Identify and collaborate with program leadership on grant proposals appropriate to the maintenance and improvement of the residency program. -
  • In concert with the PD and program coordinator, plan and assist with the residency applicant recruitment process.
  • Assist the program director in developing the residency program operating budget and monitoring the financial operations of the residency. -
  • With the Program Director, coordinates the faculty development program. Participate in the education and training of residents in areas of expertise. -
  • General oversight of scholarly and quality improvement projects of the residents.
  • Participates in education research and demonstration projects within the FM residency program.
  • Osteopathic APD candidate(s) will also serve as Director of Osteopathic track with oversight of our Osteopathic recognition, and OMT training and clinic. - The Ideal Candidate:
    • Practicing ambulatory FM physician with an interest in academic medicine looking toward future leadership. (Will consider new fellowship grad or chief resident)
    • Enjoys a mix of Administration/Clinical/Teaching
    • MD or DO Degree and Active ABFM or ABOFP Certification
    • Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited FM residency
    • A passion for providing clinically excellent care -
    • Must have or be eligible for Arizona State medical licensure
