Northrop Grumman Space Systems is searching for an Manager,
Programs 2- Next Generation Interceptor Lab Program Manager to join
the Launch Vehicles business unit in Chandler, AZ.The Next
Generation Interceptor (NGI) Lab Program Manager will provide lab
oversight, technical guidance and operational focus (Cost, Quality,
and Schedule) for the Program focusing their efforts on the
development labs, operational labs and customer
labs.Responsibilities Include:
- The Lab Program Manager will lead a cross functional team,
including our industry partner, to ensure the labs are designed,
hardware identified, procured, built, set-up and tested.
- The Lab Program Manager will be the direct interface with the
customer, will manage all schedule and costs of running the labs.
Will be responsible for managing all testing and all customer
needs. Additionally, the Lab Manager will work with configuration
management (CM) teams that deliver software to the AURHIL.
- The Lab Program Manager will support the day-to-day activities
in all labs and manage the facility for functions such as 5S
Program, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Program, Electrostatic
Discharge (ESD) control Program, etc.
- Control Account Manager (CAM) for all Lab activities. Maintain
and provide Earned Value status for the Integrated Master Schedule
(IMS) relative to Lab development and Lab operations, including
cost variance analysis and corrective actions on cost
accounts.
- Develop lab program status and metrics on a regular basis and
present to management and the customer.
- Oversee day-to-day planning and operations for NGI labs and
lead the effort to establish and maintain a Detailed Operations
Schedule for lab activities.
- Lead the team to resolve the issues adversely impacting the
development and execution of the lab program
- Establish methodology to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly
objectives are achieved
- Understand and report on team status at the required level of
detail to the Program Operations Manager, Program Management and
customer leadership
- Ensure team has the needed resources to execute the lab program
successfully
- Perform manpower planning and support the hiring process to
support the Lab Program Team
- Provide Lab expertise to support the strategic vision of the
Program, Business Unit and Division
- Support Operations Management team in baselining contract
awards in the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for all Lab
activities.
- Act as a change agent to improve processes for the labs, while
utilizing lean practices and visual management.
- Support and provide input to functional managers in regard to
employee performance.
- Champion ongoing Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Occasional business travel may be necessary (25% or
less)Candidate must have demonstrated ability in working with cross
organizational teams and customers; the ability to set and clearly
articulate goals/priorities and successfully communicate them to
key staff; strong leadership skills; and a track record of building
high-performance teams, with a particular focus on employee
development, engagement, inclusion, and retentionBasic
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Engineering degree in a STEM Discipline,
plus 9 years of experience; Masters degree plus 7 years of
experience.
- Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a secret
clearance.
- 5+ years of experience leading people and projects
- 2+ years of direct people leadership experience
- 8+ years of experience working in Engineering, Test,
Production, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, Project
Engineering, IPT, Operations Project Management (OPM), or similar
roles (6 years with a Master's degree)
- Earned Value Management (EVMS) Experience
- Experience leading proposal efforts that include labor quoting,
schedule and capacity analysis, investment planning, and
descriptive Basis of Estimates (BOE's)Preferred Qualifications:
- Electrical or Software Engineering degree is preferred
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Program execution experience
- Ability to multitask and balance multiple projects
simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with all
levels in the organization
- Strong MS Project, Excel, Power Point and Word skills
- Previous experience leading a multidisciplinary team
- Previous experience implementing lean projects
- Previous experience working on a government program"
Salary Range: $123,900 USD - $183,900 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
