And that's how we empower a renewable world.Core Job Functions: Advise and assist plant managers in providing world class vegetation management services to solar powerplant customers. The core function is to maintain a deep understanding of the current methods and issues of managing vegetation at solar power plants and to drive successful implementation of the best methods within our company. Build and maintain vegetation management guidance documents to capture best practices and lessons learned. Establish processes and procedures to achieve a high level of safety and efficiency. Train our staff and educate our customers. Develop new approaches for managing vegetation to minimize cost and environmental impacts. Design metrics and data capture mechanisms to measure effectiveness and costs of vegetation control. Analyze data to maximize value and minimize cost. Success will depend on the ability to work in close cross functional relationships with field teams, contract managers, customers, training department, planning and scheduling, safety, and business development.Experience:6+ years of experience managing vegetation at industrial, utility, agricultural, or similar facilities3+ years of experience managing or subcontracting herbicide applications at industrial, utility, agricultural, or similar facilities3+ years of experience managing mechanical vegetation control at industrial, utility, agricultural, or similar facilities3+ years budgeting or estimating vegetation management services Experience interpreting, conforming to, and negotiating contract terms desiredExperience managing sheep grazing operations preferredRequired Skills:Deep knowledge of tools, equipment, processes, methods, and legal framework in vegetation management (specific knowledge of vegetation management in solar powerplants is preferred)Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionaly with various teams and groups across a wide spectrum of specialties (position will require positive partnering with field teams, contract managers, customers, training department, planning and schedulng, safety, and business development)Demonstrated proficiency communicating technical problems, solutions, and results to customers and important stakeholdersProficiency delivering presentations to customers or internal audiencesProficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or equivalentBudgeting and cost modeling using Excel or equivalent toolsLeadership skills in the role of technical expert Working knowledge of electrical power systems and equipment, especially solar equipment preferredTake direction, identify problems, develop solutions independently and in collaboration with others Education:Bachelors degree in land management, property management, agriculture, forestry, or related discipline preferred Business degree preferred (must be combined with relevant experience as described above)Formal training in vegetation management or pesticides preferredEssential Functions & Responsibilities:Maintain a deep understanding of the current methods and issues of managing vegetation at solar powerplants Drive successful implementation of the best vegetation management methods within our companyBuild and maintain internal vegetation management guidance documents to capture best practices and lessons learnedTrain our staff and educate our customersDevelop new approaches for managing vegetation to minimize cost and environmental impactsMaintain understanding of applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to vegetation management services at our facilitiesAssist in bidding and contract negotiation processTrack costs of service and calibrate cost models and estimating processAssist plant managers in writing and updating vegetation management plans and audit operations to measure success of those plansAdvise regional groups in herbicide licensing requirementsTrack herbicide licensing requirements by region and our compliance with those requirementsCreate and update cost model inputs to insure accurate estimating and bidding of projectsAdvise in subcontracting services as neededOther duties as assignedJob Description is subject to change at any timeTravel Requirements: Travel up to 25% of time throughout the US and Canada to visit remote power plant locations, observe vegetation management practices, and train staff.Ability and license to drive to remote power plant locationsPhysical Requirements: Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shiftWill climb stairs on an occasional basisWill lift, push or pull up to 27 pounds on an occasional basisRequired to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, is requiredMust be able to comply with all safety standards and proceduresMay reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basisMay stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basisAbility to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards)Office Physical Requirements:All positions in our office require interaction with people and technology while either standing or sitting.
