About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Control Management Director.The Control Director, Remediation Leader is a responsible leader for risk management programs across Remediation within Customer Excellence . - The leader is accountable to the Control Executive for ensuring the businesses consistently implement the front-line risk programs which include consistent implementation of regulatory and corporate risk programs. - Proactively provides aggregated views of risk across the business at the LOB level and counsels leaders on risks, issues, remediation, and regulatory interactions. - This leader also must foster a collaborative environment that ensures timely communication and strong cooperation between the front-line organization and independent risk management under Corporate Risk. - The leader will work in concert with directly with the central control programs team under the Chief Control Executive. -The leader is responsible for governance and execution of front-line risk management program activities consistent with frameworks and policies established by Independent Risk Management (IRM) in coordination with Control teams, Business Control leaders, and Control Executive.Specific responsibilities include:

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across all risk types, in coordination with the supported businesses and assurance activities consistent with the risk management framework and policies established by Independent Risk Management (IRM).
  • Responsible for working closely with each of the Control Exec Risk program leaders to lead and promote a strong risk culture to ensure effective communication and collaborative partnerships. - -
  • Ensure each assigned business' strategic plan includes LOB's material risk and associated activities consistent with the enterprise risk framework and risk appetite statements. -
  • Provide input to the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the overall Wells Fargo Risk Management Framework. -
  • Drive overarching governance routines for the Control Executive team inclusive of providing aggregated views and data/analytical reporting
  • Demonstrate the ability to influence and navigate across the business; driving the right outcomes based on the needs
  • Maintain a holistic view of risks and issues across the business and ensure that issues are proactively identified, addressed appropriately, measured and escalated (when necessary)
  • Ensure LOBs planned activities are consistent with the Enterprise Risk frameworks, policies, and programs and risk appetite framework; and to ensure they are well-calibrated and integrated within the line of business. -
  • Escalate concerns and issues to Senior Leadership, Independent Risk Management, Management Committees and the Board as appropriate. - -
  • Manage relationships and foster a team orientation with business heads, Chief Control Executive team, independent risk management, legal, and audit.
  • Build a high performing risk management and controls organization and ensure proper staffing and expertise exists at the line of business level and build capabilities, processes and teams that meet heightened risk management expectationsThe successful candidate will work closely with other senior leaders across the business and the company in the development and execution of company risk management strategies. - Accordingly, critical success factors will include the ability to develop partnerships with many business and functional areas, provide insight into the economic climate and related market developments and identify trends which may present opportunities or reflect gaps in the Company's risk management execution/direction.As a Team Member Manager, you are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team, and the business. Specifically you will:
    • Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.
    • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.Required Qualifications, US:
      • 8+ years of Risk Management or Business Controls experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
      • 4+ years of Management experienceDesired Qualifications:
        • Understanding of business operations, processes, products, and customer interactions and where they manifest risk.
        • Meaningful knowledge across enterprise risk management framework, including: risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance.
        • Understanding of best-practice risk management techniques across financial services industry.
        • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders and regulators, to include virtual, matrixed leadership experience and the ability to effectively manage and build relationships within the business and enterprise Risk function.
        • Proven leadership and project management skills to drive alignment across stakeholder groups to develop and deliver repeatable end to end risk management solutions and controls aligned with business/customer processes.
        • Deep understanding of risk framework, corporate/business policies, and programs to translate into plans for the business, function and/or risk type.
        • Proven ability to build and lead high performing risk management organization in a matrixed environment, ensure proper staffing and expertise exists and can coach and enable others in risk management and risk ownership.
        • Strong analytical ability used to identify risks and confidently raise issues, escalate early and engage in constructive credible challenge and will do so independently when necessary.
        • Proven ability to proactively manage and resolve conflict and effectively defend decisions with objective rationale
        • Strategic Leadership - Create and achieve a desired future state vision through influence on individual and group goals, reinforcements, and systems.
        • Results oriented with outstanding ability to motivate teams and mobilize resources to accomplish objectives.
        • Organizational Awareness - Having and using knowledge of systems, situations, pressures, and culture within the company to identify potential organizational problems and opportunities; perceive the impact and the implications of decisions on other components of the company as well as the impact on investors, customers, and clients.Job Expectations:
          • Ability to travel 5% of the time
