Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Director in Chandler, AZ supporting our Launch Vehicles Business Unit in the Launch and Missile Defense Systems Division. The HR Director serves as a strategic business partner providing day-to-day support to the Business Unit Vice President (BU VP) and the BU senior leadership team in the accomplishment of business objectives. The primary function of the role is to be a strategic partner and consultant to the BU in order to ensure we have a human capital strategy in place to attract, engage, develop and retain the talent necessary to meet current and future state BU strategic goals. The selected candidate will lead a team of HR Manager and HR Business Partners responsible for development and implementation of HR strategy and will lead human capital programs and core processes across the business unit including but not limited to talent assessment and development, performance management, employee relations, labor relations, total rewards, succession planning and talent pipeline development, organization effectiveness and leadership development. The role requires strategic thought leadership, organizational and project management skills in a high paced environment, ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, strong business acumen and problem-solving capabilities. Candidate must demonstrate executive level communication skills, ability to collaborate in a complex matrixed environment, ability to leverage data and analytics to drive business outcomes and a results-oriented focus aligned to our business goals, leadership behaviors, and values. Roles and responsibilities include the following: Supports Sector and Division HR strategy and initiatives aligned to sector and division x matrix. Leverage data insights and trends to identify BU business challenges; proactively partner with / influence BU leadership to strategize business solutions; develop and lead planning, design, implementation, communication and delivery of high impact HR initiatives across the BU (aligned to division x matrix and BU HR objectives / priorities). Drives BU leadership / HR BU team accountability for the application / execution of performance management process and tools, and on-going coaching. Lead / facilitate BU performance alignment process and "total rewards" sessions Partner with BU leadership to develop BU talent management, succession planning and talent review strategy / cadence to bolster technical / functional leadership talent capability and strengthen the talent pipeline. Partner with BU leadership to identify talent retention strategies across the BU which drive best in class employee experience (leveraging total rewards, company mission and values, best in class culture, career development and employee flexibility) Lead / analyze and present employee survey data/key themes to senior leadership; support leadership action plan development. Experience managing and leading teams; strong people leader and manager with a focus on inspiring / enabling an inclusive, development-focused and high-performance culture for HR BU team. Strong collaborator and relationship-builder; keen ability to influence, coach, and consult with multiple senior executives concurrently. Experience and focus on proactively identifying trends, risks, and opportunities. Regularly advocating for improvements. Excellent business acumen; leveraging HR processes, tools and data/data analytics to accelerate business results and enhancing business and employee growth and the employee experience. Strong change management experience, problem solving skills and the ability to be flexible and adaptable. Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional projects to completion. Executive level verbal and written communication skills. US Citizenship. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in Aerospace & Defense and/or government contracting. Experience leading a team as a Human Resources Manager responsible for multiple HR disciplines. Proficiency with HRIS platforms and technology (Workday, Confluence, SharePoint). Experience working in a matrix environment. Salary Range: $141,400 USD - $212,200 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
