Job DescriptionThe Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park is located right off of the I-10 and Wild Horse Pass Boulevard, just 15 minutes from downtown Phoenix. 20,000 South Maricopa Road, Chandler, AZ 85226.The Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park (“WHPMSP”) Facility Manager will be responsible for a wide variety of day-to-day activities and leading/managing staff of the facilities maintenance department. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedule, direct, and support the daily operations and maintenance of WHPMSP buildings, equipment, rental venues, parking lots, and grounds by performing regular maintenance and other tasks as assigned or at the direction of the Events Manager or General Manager.
  • Understand floor plans created by event managers and guarantee proper set-up
  • And breakdown of tables, chairs, and other rented resources.
  • Ensure that all buildings, structures, parking lots, landscaped areas, internal roadways and common grounds are properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Schedule, monitor and perform operational, preventive, and reactive maintenance work as required, including mechanical, electrical, carpentry, painting, and furniture and equipment assembly or repair.
  • Ensure vehicles and equipment are well-maintained and in good repair.
  • Manage the WHPMSP hazardous and universal waste policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for reporting all operational activity to the Facilities Director through written and verbal communications.
  • Plan, develop, and ensure completion of work assignments, including clean up, to support events held on property.
  • Manage campus locks and keys and implementation of effective security procedures.
  • Provide proper inventory management including keeping accurate counts, ensuring repair of broken items, ordering, and replacing as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures during events
  • Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and customer service in any interaction with the public.
  • Perform frequent inspections of the property and all assets, document findings.
  • Actively participate in all required training programs.
  • Perform additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by management at any time. ​Supervisory Responsibilities
    • Lead and supervise staff. Work alongside staff as necessary to cover peak workloads and absences.
    • Completes departmental operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
    • Maintains department staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
    • Conducts staff performance assessments, manages ongoing performance, provides discipline when appropriate and recommends pay increases or promotions.JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
      • Working knowledge of principles and practices of painting, carpentry, electrical and building system maintenance; identification and use of common hand and power tools; safety related to construction, repair, and maintenance work.
      • Must be able to exercise sound independent judgment.
      • Employee must be dependable, reliable and self-motivated.
      • Ability to write and speak effectively, provide verbal and written reports.
      • Proficient use of computer for word processing, email and spreadsheets (Windows)
      • Ability to skillfully and safely operate power tools & equipment as required.
      • Strong supervisory and management skills.
      • Ability to work in a team environment, supporting various business entities.
      • Strong ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with people of various educational and cultural backgrounds.
      • Knowledge of emergency procedures.
      • Ability to act calmly and responsibly in an emergency situation.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
        • Five (5) years of progressive experience in all aspects of facilities maintenance.
        • At least two (2) years of experience directing and supervising the day to day work of employees.
        • Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license and provide proof of past driving record for thirty-nine (39) months from the Department of Motor Vehicles. Gila River Indian Community (“GRIC”) driver’s permit will be required.
        • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
        • Universal, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, certification(s) preferred.
        • A satisfactory result obtained through a test for illegal drugs is a requirement of employment. Must acknowledge and agree to maintain a drug-free work place as a condition of employment.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be outside for an entire shift/extended period of time. During their shift, and employee will be required to walk; use hands and fingers to grab, grasp, handle, or feel; execute repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to sit; and climb, balance, bend, stoop, lift, carry, push, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly and safely lift and/or move 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.WORKING CONDITIONSWork is performed both outside and inside; outside work is performed in most kinds of weather with exposure to extreme heat, fumes and direct sunlight. Work is performed primarily in a construction and maintenance setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.Evening, night, weekend, and holiday work is required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.Preference in filling vacancies is given to qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Preference Act (Title 25, US Code, Section 472 and 473).
