Job Description:

Arizona Specialty Hospital is Chandler Arizona is in need of the following position-Director Of Hospital Facility Services will over see the Operations side of Facilities, Environmental and Security Service with in a Hospital setting Must have basicDirect and manage the Environmental Services, Security, and Engineering programs at Arizona Specialty Hospital. Maintain the highest possible standards and cleanliness, public relations, public safety, and customer satisfaction. Establish policies and procedures for the programs in conformance with the hospital mission, values, and policies, as well as regulatory and hospital requirements. Serves in the role of Hospital Safety Officer.

  • Preferred graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in Administration or science related field preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a hospital setting is required.Supervises: EVS, Facilities and Security Service personnelContacts/Interacts with: All surgical services staff, physicians, and support staff.General Responsibilities:
    • Oversee, manage, and direct the activities and functions of the Environmental Services, Security, and Engineering Programs to ensure that all needs of the patients and staff are consistently meet.
    • Develop short and long range plans that establish objectives and define strategies (Performance Plan).
    • Develop and maintain in-service/training records for all Environmental, Security, and Facilities associates.
    • Oversee and direct all aspects of the hospital s Environment of Care Program to ensure compliance and successful accreditation of TJC.Leadership:
      • Coordinates and integrates interdepartmental and intradepartmental services.
      • Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of service.
      • Recommends a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide services.
      • Determines the qualifications and competence of department personnel who provide patient care services and who are not licensed independent practitioners.
      • Continuously assesses and improves the performance of care and services provided.
      • Maintain quality control programs, as appropriate.
      • Orient and provide in-service training and continuing education of all persons in the department.
      • Recommend spaces and other resources needed by the department.
      • Participates in the selection of sources for needed services not provided by the department or the organization.
      • Provide each employee with an evaluation that provides the employee with a clear understanding of the skills that must be developed and a plan on how to achieve those skills. To include an initial and annual competencies.
      • Ensure all employees have been properly oriented and trained to their work area and specific job responsibilities and are aware and understand the expectations.
      • Conduct weekly management/supervisory meeting and monthly department staff meetings. Periodically involve other support services managers.
      • Encourage department associates to provide input to problem solving so that everyone understands the issue, and cooperation and teamwork are attained.Organization and professionalism:
        • Comply with all Joint Commission, local and state Health Department policies.
        • Establish, implement and maintain department policies and procedures to comply with the facility standards.
        • Present a positive professional image to management, peers, employees, patients and visitors.
        • Demonstrate a positive attitude towards achieving corporate objectives and the development of a team attitude, throughout the Hospitality Services Department.
        • Complete all reports accurately and in a timely manner.
        • Direct the Hospitality Services staff in a manner that is conducive to achieving both department goals and creating team unity.Financial Control:
          • Develop department staffing plan, approve and maintain staffing schedules to keep within budgetary guidelines.
          • Meet the budgetary departmental costs for the year.Quality and Knowledge of Work:
            • Demonstrate a complete understanding of responsibilities and expectations.
            • Maintain all functions in a consistent manner, meeting or exceeding all TJC requirements, and state and local health requirements.
            • Review and update all EOC plans and obtain committee and senior management approval annually.
            • Lead monthly EOC meetings with agenda and minutes provided.
