qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Chandler, Arizona, 85224! Pay
Information $2,165 per week About The Position Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights, Minimum Every Other
Weekend Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 3 years of
recent ICU experience License: Active RN License Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience in neuro or cardiovascular
nursing, with proficiency in titrating drips. Description: This
position requires a minimum of 3 years of recent ICU experience to
be considered. Experience must include either neuro or
cardiovascular nursing. A dysrhythmia exam is required prior to
acceptance of the position. There is a pass/fail simulation lab
assessment on the first day of orientation. The unit handles
surgical ICU cases including trauma and neurosurgery. The
nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:2 or 1:1. Registered nurses
are required to titrate various medications including Propofol,
Fentanyl, and Levophed. Charge nurses do not take patients. There
are no nursing aides on this unit, except for sitters and as a
health unit secretary. Intensivists are present 24/7 in the unit.
Respiratory therapy is available 24/7. RNs are required to
interpret their own telemetry strips; there are no monitor
technicians on the unit. Self-scheduling is permitted, though the
manager may need to balance shifts for unit needs. Weekend
requirements include three weekend shifts in a four-week schedule.
May have one holiday off during the assignment. There is no on-call
or standby requirement. Registered nurses may float to the
telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:3 or 1:4 as needed. The
required scrubs are navy in color. Unit-specific orientation lasts
1-2 days. Skills for trauma, neuro, and specialty devices will be
validated as needed. Expectations include floating between similar
