Job Description:

qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Chandler, Arizona, 85224! Pay
Information $2,189 per week About The Position Job Title:
Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive
Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights EOW or up to 3
weekends per month if unit is busy Hours per Shift: 36 hours per
week Experience: 3 years of recent ICU experience required, with
experience in either neuro or cardiovascular care preferred.
License: Valid nursing license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS,
NIHSS required. Must-Have: Full 3 years of recent ICU experience to
be considered with no exceptions. Candidates must have experience
including either neuro or cardiovascular care. UNA Dysrhythmia Exam
required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance of a position. Maximum
attempts for the exam is 2. Description: Unit notes indicate an
auto-offer based on clinical prescreen. The position requires a
pass/fail simulation lab on Day 1 of orientation. Experience with
surgical ICU, trauma neuro surgery, and a level 1 trauma center is
preferred. Common diagnoses include falls, gunshot wounds, blunt
trauma, motor vehicle accidents, trauma patients over age 15,
exploratory laparotomy, craniotomy, and specialty neuro-surgery
cases. Patients with cerebrovascular accidents, status post-tissue
plasminogen activator, COVID, sepsis, and ARDS will be treated.
Registered Nurses will be required to titrate drips. Common
titratable and/or set rate drips include propofol, fentanyl,
versed, precedex, morphine, dilaudid, ketamine, rocuronium,
levophed, vasopressin, cardene, labetalol, dopamine, dobutamine,
heparin, and insulin. Charge nurses will not take patients. There
are no nurse aides on this unit, only sitters and health unit
secretaries. A hospitalist or intensivist is available in-house
24/7. Respiratory therapy is also available in the ICU 24/7.
Equipment used includes Dreager, Hamilton, Puritan Bennett 840,
V60s BiPap, and Airvo. Registered Nurses are required to interpret
their own telemetry strips. GE monitors are used for telemetry.
Self-scheduling is allowed. The manager may need to balance shifts
based on unit needs. Weekend requirements include three weekend
shifts in a four-week schedule. Night shifts on weekends are Friday
and Saturday while day shifts are Saturday and Sunday. Holiday
requirements may allow 1 holiday off during an assignment. There is
no additional call or standby requirement. Floating may be required
to tele with a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio as needed. Scrub color is navy.
Additional orientation specific to the unit will occur. There may
be validation of skills for trauma, neuro, and specialty devices as
needed. Expectations include floating between various ICU units. A
radius rule of 50 miles applies for candidates. The facility can
cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, or 3 shifts for
assignments less than 13 weeks. Charting is done using Cerner.
