Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Labor and Delivery - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/17/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for night shifts in a Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring strong C-section and Cerner charting experience. Responsibilities - Work in an 18-bed LDRP Labor & Delivery unit with 14-bed OB triage and 8-bed Antepartum in an acute care setting - Level II EQ, Level 1 Trauma Center caring for gestations 28 weeks and greater - Unit manages 8-10 deliveries per day with two fully equipped ORs for C-sections - Nurse-to-patient ratios are generally 2:1, 4:1 in Antepartum, and 1:1 for C-sections, adjusted based on acuity - Uses Cerner EMR and Fetal Link EFM system - Night shifts (), 12-hour shifts with 4 weekend shifts per schedule - Required to float to Mother/Baby and Postpartum units when needed - No mandatory call or standby required; voluntary call available - Two of three major holiday shifts required - Responsible for primary care of laboring or preterm pregnant patients, including C-section circulation and recovery - Assignments may include titration of Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate - OB hospitalist, anesthesia, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy onsite 24/7 for support - Nurse aides are not present; must be comfortable working without them - Blue scrubs required for all shifts - Candidates may not have been directly employed by facilities associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year (PRN through external firms allowed) - Must provide 2 references: one from a supervisor within the past 12 months, one from a peer or supervisor within the past 3 years - Copy of driver's license required for consideration - First time travelers are eligible to apply Requirements - Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration - Minimum 4 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience - Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications required - Experience with C-section circulation and recovery required - Proficiency with computer charting; Cerner experience strongly preferred - Must pass dysrhythmia exam (with two attempts permitted) prior to offer - Must pass a Sim lab test on day one of orientation - Able to titrate Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate according to protocol - Applicants must live at least 50 miles from the facility if residing in AZ, NV, NE, IA, or MN Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-628918.
