Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Telemetry position
requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications, and recent acute care
experience. Responsibilities - Position located in the D4 Neuro
Telemetry unit within an acute care setting - 28-bed unit serving
neuro post-surgical, post-craniotomy, spine, and post-TPA CVA
patients - Patient ratio is typically 1:3-4 - Centralized telemetry
monitoring with EKG interpretation required - 12-hour night shifts
from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM - Weekend shifts required every other
weekend - Float as needed, with travelers being the first to float
- No ventilator or ICP monitoring responsibilities - Uses Cerner
EMR system - No on-call requirements - Primary responsibilities
include monitoring and caring for post-surgical neuro,
post-craniotomy, spine, and stroke patients - Team includes charge
nurse without patient assignment, a clinical supervisor, and one
PCT for every 16 patients - Hospitalist is present during the day
and on-call at night - RT and pharmacy support available 24/7 -
Two-day floor-specific orientation provided - COVID vaccination
required or declination with appropriate documentation - Required
to wear navy scrubs - Holiday coverage as assigned - Radius
requirement of at least 50 miles from the facility for AZ permanent
residents Requirements - Active RN license (State or Compact);
pending licenses not accepted - Minimum 2 years of recent
experience in acute care within the last 6 months - Current ACLS,
BLS, and NIHSS certifications required; pending certifications not
accepted - Ability to interpret EKGs and telemetry strips - Must
pass Relias Dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer (2 attempts
max) - Must pass sterile technique assessment on day 1 of
orientation - Required to provide a copy of driver’s license for
consideration - Candidates may not have been employed at
CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities within the past year
