Job Description Job Description SUMMARY Performs all dispensary
and medical tasks necessary for the operation of a behavioral
health clinic; assists in counseling groups; orients, trains and
directs the work of other LPN’s. DUTIES Performs medication
dispensary functions and necessary injections as assigned. Performs
basic nursing functions, such as taking blood pressure measuring
weight, refilling medications, and completing medical history
forms. Maintains accurate records on client dosage, attendance, and
relevant side effects; maintains and updates the medical treatment
follow-up file on all clients. May participate in the development
of treatment plans through data gathering and observations. May
provide clinical outpatient and/or in-patient treatment, including
crisis intervention, to individuals, families, and groups. May
participate in case management services for clients, including
development of treatment plans, follow-up, and closure. Performs
urine monitoring and drug screens as required. Assists physician in
examinations, evaluations, and record keeping, and may set up
medication clinics. Provides education on health promotion.
Participates in team meetings; communicates information on client
dosage, physical problems, and relevant behavior. Attends and
participates in in-service training sessions. May present sessions
as needed. Maintains nursing office and examination room in
acceptable sanitary condition. Coordinates with pharmacist as
necessary for assembling doses for dispensing. May draw laboratory
samples and facilitate follow up medical treatment. Serves as
client advocate with community agencies as appropriate. May serve
as staff liaison with hospitalized clients. May provide medication
education for staff and clients. May direct the work of other LPN’s
and may function as unit supervisor in his/her absence. Assists
behavioral health providers as needed. Coordinate all care and
services required to enhance and facilitate the optimal physical
and behavioral health wellness of persons served within a
trauma-informed care framework. This includes: 1) facilitating
communication between medical and behavioral health
practitioners/systems ; 2) assisting with scheduling of and
compliance with preventative and specialty physical health
interventions; 3) integrating treatment interventions to address
both the physical and behavioral health needs of the person/family
concurrently; 4)assist persons/families served with education and
resources outlining the interplay of physical and behavioral health
issues on overall wellness and quality of life. An individual may

AZ LPN license Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Knowledge of various
treatment modalities. Demonstrated skill in providing nursing
services to behavioral health clients. Academic and/or experiential
knowledge of treatment services for special populations. Knowledge
of, and ability to work with, SMI, addictive, dually diagnosed
populations and/or other difficult client populations. Demonstrated
ability to function effectively as a member of a treatment team.
Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records. Knowledge of and
sensitivity to cultural differences. Some knowledge of
administrative, management, and supervisory practices. Ability to
communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to
delegate and coordinate the work of others. Ability to communicate

Bilingual (Spanish/English) Availability to work evening and
weekend hours Physical Exam, TB Skin test, CPR, and Fingerprinting
