qualifications will not be considered. A dynamic nursing
opportunity is available for an experienced RN with step-down (PCU)
expertise in Prescott Valley, AZ. This role focuses on providing
acute care to patients undergoing cardiovascular and surgical
services within a fast-paced critical care environment. The unit
supports a range of complex conditions including cardiac surgery
recovery, STEMI/NSTEMI care, chronic ventilation, and renal disease
management. Responsibilities include: Monitoring patients using
advanced equipment such as Philips Cardiac and Telemetry Monitors,
Welch Allyn Vital Signs Monitors, and invasive monitoring devices.
Administering IV cardiac medications and caring for patients with
peritoneal dialysis, chest tubes, epidural catheters, PCA pumps,
transvenous pacing, and arterial or venous sheath care.
Collaborating with hospitalists and the critical care team to
deliver comprehensive patient care. Floating to ICU and
Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units as needed, requiring proficiency
in arterial line management and sheath pulls. Utilizing Cerner EMR
and Pyxis medication dispensing systems for computerized charting
and medication administration. Desired Qualifications: Minimum 1
year experience in step-down/PCU nursing. Proficient EKG
interpretation skills. Active and in good standing AZ RN license.
Current ACLS and BLS certifications. Successful completion of a
dysrhythmia exam (minimum 80% score within two attempts before
signing contract). Compliance with radius and employment history
requirements related to healthcare systems. Schedule: 12-hour
shifts (7 AM-7 PM or 7 PM-7 AM), 3 shifts per week mandatory, with
an option for up to 4 shifts weekly upon discussion. Unit Details:
14-bed PCU with nurse-to-patient ratio ranging from 1:3 to 1:4
depending on acuity. Dress code requires navy scrubs and
business-appropriate hair colors. Orientation includes specialized
training for cardiac surgery post-op care, STEMI/NSTEMI,
withdrawal, ventilator management, and complex patient scenarios.
