The National Remember Our Troops Campaign is currently hiring people in your state to represent NROTC at fundraising events for veterans at local-to-you venues/businesses. We are looking for very motivated, compassionate, independent individuals to serve as Fundraising Event Hosts, who will PREPARE and OVERSEE OUR CARD-SIGNING DONATION TABLES. Since many of our events are held outdoors, please understand that in certain states your work will be very limited during the colder months; but feel free to apply from whatever state youre in and well get you going ASAP. NROTC is a 501(c)(3) veterans charity providing assistance to homeless veterans. We are the face behind the "Cards for Troops" program, which has been proven effective in suicide prevention in both veterans and active military members. NROTC is also proactive in combatting stress and PTSD, helps veterans in need by expediting the claims process, and partners with the VA and other organizations for assistance referrals, and at Operation Reveille Stand Downs across the country, where we provide homeless veterans with informational resource cards, hygiene packs, blankets and NROTC Comfort Pillows. REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION ARE VERY SIMPLE BUT NON-NEGOTIABLE: Must: Be legally authorized to live and work in the continental United States. Pass a background check. Be 18+ Speak English fluently Live in or within 20 miles of (and willing to travel up to 20 miles to get to) a fairly densely populated semi-urban area with a good amount of businesses and population. OWN mobile phone with texting capabilities and ACTIVE voice mail messaging and retrieval system. Have easy access to: Reliable transportation A portable, collapsible table (reimbursable according to NROTC reimbursement guidelines) A color printer (at home or at an office supply store; printed materials are reimbursable with receipt and according to NROTC reimbursement guidelines) Internet and a personal email address that you check on a daily basis Be familiar with or willing to learn how to use Google Spreadsheets Same-day-as-event expense reimbursement for any required supplies (including gas mileage at 25 per mile), up to 60 miles round-trip; total reimbursement limited at up to 20% of an events donations. You will earn 30% commission on collected donations. There is no additional pay. This is an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR position. You are responsible for your own taxes. No office to check into; however, you must respond to all correspondence (texts, calls and emails). Self-scheduling. Every week you will update your availability with NROTC. We will ONLY book you during the days/times you state you are available. Bring your family to events! Cash paid daily. Our reps pay and reimburse themselves in cash after each event before sending the remaining donations to NROTC via money order or bank deposit.
