Job Description:


The Technical Support Specialist-Filtration serves as a primary technical expert in support of the Valin filtration product lines. Valin is a distributor of a wide array of filtration technologies for customers in the chemical, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, oil & gas, bioenergy/biochemical, food and beverage, and other industries. This individual collaborates with customers and Valin personnel to analyze filtration and to define and develop technical solutions and business proposals to grow Valin's share of the filtration product portfolio business. They provide training, troubleshooting, technical support as well as planning, coordinating, and testing equipment in collaboration with supplier partners to qualify Valin products in critical customer applications.

Job Responsibilities:
Timely and accurate processing of sales quotes, orders and expedites; quote follow up
Act quickly, creatively, and decisively to resolve customer issues
Work cooperatively with the Materials Planning department so purchases and expedites can be completed promptly and efficiently
Develop phone skills: assess customers needs and expectations, and generate opportunities to sell additional products
Resolve customer order difficulties to minimize cancellations, product returns and credits; bring difficult matters to the attention of the Customer Service Manager promptly
Know and use company's policies and approved procedures and bring necessary procedural exceptions to the attention of the Customer Service Manager, in advance of action when possible
Make suggestions and recommendations for improvement for better ways to service customers and increase sales
Bring to the attention of the Customer Service Manager and Outside Sales any major shifts in the customers buying habits
Listen, understand, and convey customer requirements
Communicate sales opportunities to outside sales and management
Work alongside Outside Sales with possible leads obtained through quote follow ups
Become the in-house expert in certain system-level product lines. Gather customer requirements and work with the suppliers to provide system quotes. Streamline the process and develop templates to enable Valin to provide a quick and easy customer experience.
Provide technical and product training for Valin and customer personnel.
Take an active role in Valin's effort to develop standard and configurable filtration system product lines.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:
Preferred Bachelors degree of science and/or Arts or equivalent work experience
Proficient in MS Applications
Experience with CRM preferred: Dynamics 365 a plus
Prefer 1-2 years experience in filtration products and service offerings and/or sales support of technical industrial products.
Superior interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong ability to organize and prioritize workload, and to meet deadlines
Strong analytical, design and problem-solving skills
Outstanding computer skills
Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Must have a structured and organized work approach.
Familiarity of Prophet 21 ERP platform a plus.

Majority of the day is spent sitting at a desk
