Job Description:
Company DescriptionMicrochip Technology Inc. is a leading
provider of embedded control applications. Our product portfolio
comprises general purpose and specialized 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit
microcontrollers, 32-bit microprocessors, field-programmable gate
array (FPGA) products, a broad spectrum of high-performance linear,
mixed-signal, power management, thermal management, radio frequency
(RF), timing, safety, security, wired connectivity and wireless
connectivity devices, as well as serial Electrically Erasable
Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM), Serial Flash memories,
Parallel Flash memories, and serial Static Random Access Memory
(SRAM). We also license Flash-IP solutions that are incorporated in
a broad range of products.Job DescriptionThis opportunity is for a
senior level analog SOC Architect in a Microchip business unit
focused on design and manufacture of embedded microcontrollers
targeting sensor and low-latency control applications. The candidate
will work with the R teams to define and document the analog
architecture of new products, guide them through IP decisions and
provide technical leadership. The candidate will identify and define
new IP and drive 'make vs. buy' decisions. The candidate will be
responsible for defining products that improve performance, ease
customer migration, and are compatible with the existing software
and development tools ecosystem. The candidate must be a
self-starter and enjoy a hands-on approach.The candidate must be
able to envision the complete customer solution while being able to
define and document low-level implementation details.A diverse
background in electronic systems is helpful for this position. The
candidate will be responsible for the definition of the
mixed-signal infrastructure of an embedded microcontroller. The
candidate will define chip-level analog subsystems, associated
digital control logic and interconnect. These include subsystems for
voltage regulation, power management, ADC/DAC conversion, op-amps,
comparators, capacitive sensing circuits, I/O pads, and clock
generation blocks. The analog subsystems must support
application-level sensing and control solutions in unique and
innovative ways. The candidate will define new IP as necessary and
drive 'make vs. buy' decisions. The candidate will investigate and
acquire external IP to support a solution when necessary. The
candidate will participate in design reviews of analog modules and
subsystems to ensure design targets are met.The candidate will also
participate in the review of validation data and may participate in
analog validation activities as required. The candidate will oversee
integration and layout of the analog systems during the chip design
process to ensure that analog performance requirements are
achieved.The candidate must have a self-starting and hands-on
attitude. The candidate must be able to envision the complete
customer solution that includes support tools, documentation,
firmware, and hardware. At the same time, the candidate must be able
to define and document low-level hardware details that will make
the entire solution successful.Job RequirementsMinimum Bachelor of
Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Master's Degree
preferredAt least 7-10 years of work experience in one or more of
the following areas:Embedded SOC/ASIC requirements
