What We're Looking For:Iridium is seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineer to join our System Performance Team, which is responsible for the data processing, reporting and analysis of Iridium's system performance. In this role, you will be responsible for managing multiple activities/projects, including those with cross-functional teams. The development function encompasses a broad range of skills, from small script and software tool development and maintenance, software engineering and design to align with the corporate objectives. The development function requires ability to support efforts from requirements gathering, schedule development, and coordinating development with a small team of System Performance Team developers and engineers. What You'll Do:

  • Foster and develop a highly effective team of developers
  • Mentor and train your team by performing regular check-ins, discussing career growth opportunities, giving constructive feedback, and managing conflict when necessary
  • Establish an Agile/Scrum framework for utilizing Atlassian tool suite for software development. Update issues/features data in Atlassian Project/Software tracking tools
  • Plan and execute software releases per stakeholder/program schedules and budgets
  • Be responsible for understanding the existing data architecture as well as support the selection and integration of new data technologies (AI & machine learning) to align with the corporate strategic objectives
  • Develop expertise with the Service Performance Tools and data and oversee the development of optimized code for both scalability and performance to best optimize the tools and data architecture
  • Create and/or maintain build environments for SW products
  • Effectively communicates project status and modifications to all stakeholders, through briefings and documentation, planned implementation, or issue resolutionsWhat You'll Need to Succeed:

    • Have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and high commitment to customer serviceThings You Must Bring to the Table:
      • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related engineering discipline; Master's degree preferred
      • 10+ years of relevant experience in the data science/analyst role
      • Minimum of 2 years working with databases (preferably Mongo and/or Relational database)
      • Effective MS Office skills
      • Experience with the following technologies:
      • Linux based environments
      • Java / Java Script / Python
      • XML / JSON / SQL
      • MongoDB and MySQL
      • js / Apache Web Server
      • Atlassian management/software development tools: Jira / Git / Bitbucket / Crucible / Bamboo / Confluence / ClearCase / Jenkins Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:
        • Experience with the following technologies:
        • Apache Spark
        • GrafanaWe'll also need you to:
