Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join our team in Chandler, AZThe Principal Systems Engineer will be part of the GMD Boost Vehicle Flexible Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) team within the NG Space Sector. The flexible SEIT engineer will be expected to assist the program in a wide variety of tasking, including requirements capture, derivation and decomposition; supporting customer meetings and responding to comments and questions from the customer; interface definition and control and possibly supporting integration and test activities (including field and launch operations). The flexible SEIT engineer performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. The SEIT engineer ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Basic Qualifications:- 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD. - Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Engineering or related field with 5 years of related experience- Ability to obtain a Security clearance (SECRET or higher) which requires US Citizenship- Ability to work in a team environmentAbility to work in a fluid position where tasking can change from day to day, depending on the need of the program.- Strong written and verbal communication skills- Ability to solve problems and ask information- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multi-task- Ability to travel (approximately 10%) to test venuesPreferred Qualifications:Experience with requirements management software (DOORS preferred)- Familiarity with Telemetry Systems, avionics or mechanical systems- Experience with vehicle integration and testing- Experience working on DoD / MDA contractsStrong ownership of problems and ability to offer and implement solutions.Desire to actively work toward process improvement and efficiencySalary Range: $87,400 USD - $151,800 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
