Navigation and Control Engineering organization is hiring for a
Principal/ Senior Principal Guidance Navigation Control Engineer
professional at our Chandler, AZ location.Designs, develops,
implements, verifies and tests algorithms and software and
simulation tools to perform guidance, navigation and control of
aircraft, spacecraft, submersibles, surface ships, missiles, launch
vehicles and upper stages during powered and coast phases of
launch, flight, earth orbit, interplanetary cruise and orbital
insertion, as well as during staging events. Navigation functions
include the statistical processing of measured data points and
their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality.
Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations to
achieve a desired position, orientation or orbit in space. Control
design and analyses processes consist of the development of the
control laws and hardware and software requirements for aircraft,
launch vehicles and/or spacecraft. Essential Functions: Leads the
Zombie GNC team on design, test, and launch operations. Critical
skills required include;Missile flight simulation utilizing
internal C++ toolAutopilot tuning and designKnowledge of Matlab and
Python and ability to utilize tools to subjectively evaluate
simulation data in a nominal and monte carlo senseSignificant
understanding of missile flight dynamicsThe lead will interface
with project engineering and other disciplines to support the
program goals while ensuring the technical purity of the GNC
system.Lead is expected to mentor and develop talent assigned to
the GNC effort.Support various launch vehicle, target vehicle, and
business development programsDesign, develop, and implement flight
software algorithms to support guidance, navigation, and control
functions for the target or launch vehicleDesign, develop, and
implement simulation software to test and verify mission
requirements for the vehicleNavigation functions include the
statistical processing of measured data points and their
substitution into algorithms simulating physical realityGuidance
functions include the formulation of specific equations to achieve
a desired position, orientation or orbit in spaceControl design and
analyses processes consist of the development of the control laws

milestones, technical approaches, and findings to GNC as well as
program management Basic Qualifications: This requisition may be
filled at either a Principal level 3 or Senior Principal 4
Principal 3 Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science,
Technology, Engineering or Math) with 5 years of related
engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in STEM with 3 years
of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 4 years of
experienceActive DoD Secret security clearance, or higherExperience
with vehicle trajectory design and customer provided requirements
analysis in a flight software in simulation environmentSenior
Principal 4Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science,
Technology, Engineering or Math) with 9 years of related
engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in STEM with 7 years
of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 4 years of
experienceActive DoD Secret security clearance, or higherExperience
with vehicle trajectory design and customer provided requirements
analysis in a flight software in simulation environment Preferred
Qualifications: Bachelor or Master's in Aerospace, Mechanical, or
ElectricalActive DoD Top secret security clearanceExperience with
autopilot and guidance algorithm design and navigation and actuator
subsystemsExperience with Python and the Linux operating system are
preferredExperience with C++, MATLAB, and SimulinkSalary Range:
$87,600 USD - $131,400 USD Salary Range 2: $108,600 USD - $163,000
USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition
to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
