Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking an experienced engineer for the role of Sr Principal MBSE Systems Engineer as an individual contributor for Systems Architecture development and maintenance on the Sentinel program in our Chandler, AZ office. The Sr Principal MBSE Systems Engineer will contribute to the Architecture products on a variety of the Sentinel vehicle subsystems, components, the interfaces, and requirements that drive the architecture design. To succeed in this role the ideal candidate must be comfortable with ambiguity and willing to work collaboratively with the IPT, both internally and with the customer, and with the Chief Engineer to resolve architecture issues as they arise both tactfully and in a productive manor. Candidate should have a demonstrated history of strong technical skills and demonstrated performance in developing solutions that consider cost, schedule, and technical risk as elements of the problem solution. System MBSE Engineer Roles: The candidate should possess strong technical problem solving, written and verbal communication skills to generate and document system level launch vehicle requirements, perform vehicle performance assessments, and participate in system level verification/data review activities. Regular interface with program management, engineering staff and external customers is expected. The candidate should be willing to occasionally work during odd hours (nights/weekends) and occasionally longer than normal (> 40 hrs/wk) to meet deadlines. The candidate should possess a strong resolve to drive tasks to completion autonomously and possess demonstrated mentoring/training skills. Able to lead small teams for short team projects for short durations of time. Capable of mentoring early career engineers and able to set the example to others on the team for work products and stakeholder interaction. Creates and modifies management tracking reports for a variety of systems engineering performance parameters, resource metrics and design margins. Participates in the creation of and manages changes to system or subsystem models. Supports creation of system architectures(s), system physical views - system elements (blocks) and critical interfaces (internal and external). Supports and program testing and/or evaluation/validation and ensures results are captured in the model. Prepares and presents presentation during System Requirement Review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review and System Verification Review. Supports trade studies, system sensitivity studies, design optimization studies, system performance assessments, system design assessments, Operations Analysis work such as mission analysis and timelines and CONOPS development. The candidate will be required to travel domestically on a periodic basis. ( Minimum job Requirements: Requires BS in Engineering with a minimum of 9 years related experience, master's degree with 7 years of related experience or PhD with 5 years of experience. U.S. Citizenship is required Full Secret clearance is required for this position Ability to travel is required Demonstrated Systems Engineering experience Strong oral and written communication skill Preferred Experience: A strong experienced-based and academic foundation in Systems Engineering fundamentals Experience with Northrop Grumman Space Systems LVBU Systems Engineering standards/guidelines and expectations Experience with external customer interfacing (meetings, presentation, negotiation) System testing and launch operations experience Experience with Agile and Scrum MBSE and DOORS experience is desired Salary Range: $108,600 USD - $163,000 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
