The Global Financial Crimes (GFC) organization is comprised of specialized teams dedicated to developing and implementing effective policies, advanced analytics and thorough investigative processes that consider the risks posed by PayPal's products and customers as well as internal fraud risk exposure. The GFC Analytics organization, in partnership with the Global Investigations team, is looking for a highly talented, self-motivated and analytical individual to join our team to assist with the development of monitoring controls for our internal fraud risk exposure, as well as tuning and optimization of these monitoring controls on an ongoing basis to improve the efficiency of the controls over time. The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in data and statistical analysis techniques, as well as understanding of Fraud risk typologies.Job Description:Job Requirements.Minimum of three years of experience in the field of fraud detection, investigations, and AML/CFT transaction monitoring,Minimum of three years of experience working with development, tuning and optimization of fraud and/or AML transaction monitoring rules and reports, by leveraging data and statistical analysis techniques to derive thresholds, identify outliers and utilize statistical sampling techniques to facilitate above-the-line and below-the-line testingThorough understanding of fraud risks and typologies, as well as transaction monitoring processes used to mitigate these risksGood understanding of Fraud and AML transaction monitoring, and the standard monitoring rules/scenarios offeredStrong research and analytical skills, business acumen, strategic and creative thinking, project leadership skills and multi-tasking capabilitiesStrong SQL and Python skillsAbility to extract data from multiple disparate sources, and analyze large sets of complex data, draw meaningful conclusions, and make business recommendations based on analysisExperience in building and developing models, queries, or software to analyze and visualize data using tools such as TableauStrong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate to all levels of the businessSelf-driver with the ability to work with a cross-functional teamAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and dynamic financial services environmentExperience in developing documentation that meets the highest regulatory standards and audit requirementsPrepare reports and updates to senior management regarding the above activitiesStructure and refine analysis with the goal of distilling insights from the dataBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree and minimum of three years business experience in a data analytics roleExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalExceptional interpersonal and communication skills, in dealing with people at all levels of the organizationPrior experience leading high-performing teams in a rapid-growth environmentIntellectual curiosity, passion for problem-solving, and comfort with ambiguityAbility to take initiative and execute against key projects independentlyAbility to thrive in a cross-functional environment while juggling multiple responsibilitiesStrong SQL and Python skillsExperience in distilling and presenting complex quantitative analysis to business usersHigh energy and a desire to work in a results-oriented, fast growth environmentA passion for understanding and serving the unique community of PayPalWe're a purpose-driven company whose beliefs are the foundation for how we conduct business every day.
