This individual will report to the Subcontracts Administration Manager in Business Management. The selected candidate will communicate complex technical information to suppliers and internal customers.The qualified applicant will join a cohort of employees re-entering the workforce after a currentRoles and Responsibilities:Sources and procures goods and services of a category nature from many suppliersInitiates Requests for Quotations and Proposals and receives same, analyzing proposed pricing from potential suppliersEstablishes agreements with suppliers using a mix of contract types including firm fixed price and cost reimbursableIn conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedulesWorks with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services or products requiredIdentifies opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiationsIssues purchase ordersManages performance of purchase orders, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulationsEmploys sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activitiesEnsures that appropriate documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse organization so that proper receipt is recordedReviews and approves supplier payment as neededUtilizes process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvementBasic Qualifications:5+ years' experience in purchasing, sales, contracts, or related fieldBachelor's degree or 4 additional years of related experienceCapability to read technical drawings and documentsComfortable leading negotiations and preparing price analyses of supplier proposalsPreferred Qualifications: Master's Degree Experience procuring complex machined parts used in solid rocket motors - General understanding of solid rocket motor metal parts and to olingAbility to assess supplier capability to produce hardware used in solid rocket motorsKnowledge of government contracting requirements and regulations (e.g. FAR, DFARS, ITAR, etc.)Experience writing and negotiating Long Term AgreementsExperience negotiating Terms and ConditionsComfort level working with MRP/ERP systemsStrong MS Office skillsSalary Range: 72400 - 108600Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
