Northrop Grumman Space Systems is searching for an experienced Mechanical Technician 2 to join the Manufacturing team within the Launch Vehicles business unit located in Chandler, AZ.

Position Overview
Performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the development of mechanical and electromechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies and components. Drafts detailed drawings for fabrication. Devices, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies. Sets up and tests complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions. Analyzes data and recommends modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications.

Primary duty is bonding insulative materials to both flight and non-flight assemblies and components. This includes the ability to read and understand part and assembly drawings as well as written work instructions and technical manuals. The ability to use hand and mechanical power tools to cut, shape and prepare parts to be bonded using a variety of adhesives. Must be able to work in a team environment and be responsible to record all completed operations.

Basic Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience

Salary Range: $43,200 USD - $72,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
